The Education Options EXPO is a free event, occurring this Saturday, March 15, in San Jose, where parents of PreK12 students meet with representatives of private schools, homeschooling and unschooling groups, and a select charter school to learn about the educational options available for their children. Thirteen schools/groups will be exhibiting. Five speakers will deliver talks regarding democratic schooling, unschooling, homeschooling, hackschooling, charter schools, and how to identify the best educational approach for your child. Expected attendees: 100.

How to Overcome Doubt, Procrastination, & Indecision

KEY Point:  The journey of success, like health and hygiene is a moment by moment experience.

 

1) Overcome doubt by becoming a person of belief.

a) Must SEE the outcome you are seeking

What does the desired outcome actually look like?

Ie. lose weight ->  put pictures up around your desk

new car ->  put pictures of up

b) Speak it into existence; “I own a white jeep cherokee.

-What would you do if you really owned it?   ….Drive it….

go test drive it at the dealership.

-Close the gap of your current situation and desired situation by

acknowleding the truth and declaring it aloud “It’s possible.”

 

2) Overcome procrastination by becoming a person of action.

Thoughts about action must be transformed

a) realize the law of nature discovered Isaac Newton “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” FACT

-Visualize relationship between bicep & tricep, one pulls one pushes

-Achievement is based on you creating the results you desire

b) Realize failure and mistakes are the secrets to accelerate your achievement

-If something doesn’t work then try something else.

-At some point you will run out of ways that don’t work

Thomas Edison, inventor of the incandescent light bulb, made 10,000

experiments to find that invention.

-Interviewer asked, “How were you able to persist after failing 10,000

times?”

Edison replied “Son, you don’t understand how the world operates.  I

didn’t fail 10,000 times. I successfully identified 10,000 ways which

wouldn’t work. And that led me to discovering the way which did work.”

 

3) Overcome Indecision by becoming a decisive person

Think differently about decision-making

a) Realize that it’s okay to wait to make a decision for some things BUT

you know deep in your heart other things require that you make a decision

-best formula is to decide and notice what is working and what is not

-keep doing what is working and change what is not working

b) Understand that the most powerful people in the world make the

decision they believe is the best THEN invest themselves into fulfilling

the outcome of that decision and actually MAKING it the best decision

with their time, effort, and energy.
